How to Compare Phone Plan Prices

Compare the same number of lines

A family quote can describe the total for all lines or an average per line. For example, a hypothetical $90 total for three lines is $30 per line, not a $30 single-line plan. Compare the line-group total and required line count together.

Separate monthly equivalents from bills

A hypothetical $180 annual payment averages $15 a month, but the payment is still $180 upfront. Check renewal prices and the period covered. Our monthly equivalents explain the calculation; they do not change when the carrier bills you.

Account for conditions

Check taxes, activation or connection fees, equipment payments and qualifying AutoPay methods. Do not subtract a discount a second time from a price that already includes it. If the quote’s discount basis is unclear, compare the known conditions and obtain the complete bill before buying.
